I've got a show of photographs opening at Coburg Coffee in Halifax on October 1st (7-10pm). The show will be up until November 30th. The title of the project is "Old Bones | New Bones" and examines the changing face of the urban environment in Halifax with the recent upswing in redevelopment.
My photo "Library Letters" of the Halifax Central Library has been commended as part of the 2016 Sony World Photography Awards! This is essentially an "honourable mention" category of 40 photos and one step down from the shortlist considered for winning the category. Across the 10 categories in this year's awards, a total of 95,000 photos were received. The photo will be on display at Somerset House in London, UK from April 22 to May 8th, 2016.
Welcome to the newly rebuilt site. The site should work 100% better on mobile devices, is HTML5 compliant, blah blah blah. It looks pretty similar, but hopefully it is much easier to get around and looks good on any device you throw at it. Let me know if you have any issues, or if you just want to say Hi.
I’ve uploaded a dozen of my favourite shots taken while shooting for the Halifax Pop Explosion. It was a great time full of great music (and comedy). You can see them under the Projects section here.
Dean Brousseau and I have put together an exhibition that will be on display at Secord Gallery in Halifax, NS from October 3rd to the 31st. The show is titled ‘Ambulations’ and collects photos by Dean in the late 70s and new photos that I‘ve taken this summer. They focus on the quiet parts of late nights in urban areas. The opening is on Friday, October 3rd from 7 to 9pm at Secord Gallery (6310 Quinpool Road).
I will have an image on display at the Soho Photo Gallery in New York for their 14th annual Krappy Kamera exhibition. The opening is on February 5th and the show runs from Feb 5th to March 1st. Hope to see you at the opening!
I’ve put together a new book for the New Light exhibition, titled NYC10: A Decade in Gotham. It collects my favourite photos from my years in New York, showing my growth, familiarisation, and exploration over that time period. You can order a copy directly from Blurb.
I will have five photos on display at Viewpoint Gallery in Halifax, NS during the month of September as part of their New Light exhibit. The opening will be on September 5th. There will also be an artists talk on Sept 15th, which you should attend, but I will be out of town for.
I’ve put up a small selection of images from the environs of Las Vegas under Projects. It’s called Non Vegas.
Also I will be showing a few pictures at an art show in Halifax sometime in January. More details soon.
